Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I just buy PDEVIDENCE in one lump sum instead of paying an annual subscription?
The PDEVIDENCE Evidence Management System™ is offered as Software as a Service (SaaS), meaning it’s under constant development and securely hosted by us. PDEVIDENCE incorporates the latest advances in law enforcement while taking advantage of modern web technologies. Enhancements and new features are delivered seamlessly and automatically to all of our users. PDEVIDENCE is not like legacy software that you must install on each computer. Take PDEVIDENCE anywhere you have an Internet connection and on any device!
We have numerous patrol officers and investigators, but only one or two of us handle the evidence. Can I just sign-up for 2 users?
Pricing is based on actual agency size as expressed in “full-time equivalent officers”. Part-time officers are calculated a rate of 2:1. Example: An agency employing 20 full-time officers and 10 part-time officers would equal a full-time equivalent count of 15 users for billing purposes. Agencies will not be permitted to initiate service with a reported user count less than outlined in this formula. Our approach allows smaller agencies with the ability to operate a robust technically advanced evidence management system at a fraction of the price associated with purchasing a comparable solution.
So what about this Free Agency Trial?
You’ve read all the marketing information, reviewed the pricing and played with the online demo. We understand there are only so many items you can create in the online demo listing your partner as a suspect. Now it’s time to make the case for moving forward with the PDEVIDENCE Evidence Management System™, a barcode enabled web-based evidence management solution.
Do I get hardware with the 90-day trial?
Sadly, no. We extend the 90-day trial so you can add officers and evidence locations to get a better feel for how our solution might fit into your agency’s work flow. The good news is that if you have a USB barcode scanner from another project, it may work with our application! The basic requirements are that it be able to read 1D Code39 barcodes and be programmed to send the Enter key event after each scan.
